About the Library
The What Cheer Public Library is located at 308 S Barnes St in What Cheer, Iowa. The Library director is Ida Day. The library and City Hall share the same building. The library has many books, movies, audiobooks, magazines, available to the public. Also, everyone who has a library card at our library has access to Bridges, Iowa's elibrary. Bridges gives our patrons access to over 95,000 titles online. Patrons can check out virtual materials like ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and movies. If you have a What Cheer Public Library card, just click on the ebook and audio icon on our home page, that will take you to Bridges. If you have trouble signing in, call to get help @ 641-634-2023. We have started adding new books and DVD movies to our collection. If you would like to read a book we don't have, you can request it and we will try to get a copy of it for you to read. We have a drop box outside City Hall for after hour returns. Each month we get 20 different Large Print books from the Decorah Public Library. We have ordered and received several new books to add to our collection. Some of the authors are Clive Cussler, Deen Koontz, Linda Castillo, Nora Roberts to name a few.
